EMC TESTING and CERTIFICATES

FOR MACHINES, DEVICES ANDVEHICLES…

...from the fields of automotive, industry, health, household, construction and agriculture

The increasing complexity of vehicles and other technical devices demands for increased electromagnetic compatibility testing to ensure the electric parts do not influence other components negatively. The EDAG EMC testing center has state-of-the-art testing equipment that allows us to test cars, trucks an agricultural machines and more in compliance with the legal requirements. The EMC center test standards are not exclusive to Germany; vehicles and devices can also be tested and certified in legal compliance with international standards.

The test center for electromagnetic compatibility is TISAX-certified, offers the highest level of data protection and will also be accredited by the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH (DAkkS) according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025.

EXAMPLES OF TESTING STANDARDS

  • An electromagnetic compatibility test for vehicles (Regulation 10, EMC interference suppression) and part of the UN/ECE for vehicles. This applies to vehicles for registration in North America, Europe, North Asia (not China).

  • The CISPR publications deal with standardized disturbance measurement methods of electromagnetic disturbance. Numbers 12 and 25 refer to vehicles, boats and integrated combustion engines, 16 to radio interference more generally. Parallel to these, there are also European standards (EN 550xx) and DIN standards (DIN VDE 0879-1 and -2).

  • This standard describes the testing of the immunity of electrical and electronic devices (equipment) to high-frequency electromagnetic fields, and also specifies the general conditions for the test process and setup.

  • Specifies vehicle tests to determine the immunity of passenger and commercial vehicles to electrical disturbances from narrowband radiated electromagnetic energy. The tests are carried out across a broad frequency range.

  • This is a test method for testing electrical interference from electrostatic discharges and is used on vehicles and vehicle components. A wide variety of possible sources of interference are described and tested.

  • This specification defines the electrostatic discharge (ESD) test methods necessary to evaluate electronic modules intended for vehicle use. Discharges can be caused during assembly, by service staff or by occupants.

  • This international standard describes the method for testing the electromagnetic compatibility of medical equipment.

It is supplemented by numerous additional sub-standards. The preparation of a new edition is to begin in 2023.
