FAQ

Making impossible things possible. With you.

In order to give you the best possible support on your way to EDAG, we have summarised questions and answers to help you get started with us.

Corona notes

  • Yes. All advertised positions are to be filled. As soon as we have filled a vacancy, we remove it from all our channels.

  • We leave the choice up to you. In general, you will find all job advertisements on the EDAG Careers Page and some additionally on job portals such as Stepstone; No matter how - the application lands via both channels directly with the recruiting team.

  • There is no rule of thumb here. If you are looking for a job, please apply. In general, we recommend that you apply about 1-3 months before the desired starting date.

  • Yes, please. The reason: Behind each position is a specific department, location and recruiting team. For data protection reasons, we are not allowed to pass on your application. However: Once you have registered and your digital profile has been created, you can easily apply for one or more additional positions with just a few clicks.

  • Of course. We are aware that there are notice periods of 3 or even 6 months. We are prepared for this. You are what counts.

  • Of course. Our job advertisements describe the ideal candidate - but we are interested in the person behind the certificates and degrees. Many roads lead to EDAG: perhaps you have gained your professional experience through a somewhat different career path? Tell us your story!

  • Of course! If no suitable position is currently advertised for you, we look forward to receiving your unsolicited application. Our recruiting team will then check whether we can still find an opportunity for you.

  • Paper application - that was in the past. Please apply exclusively online via the respective job advertisement on EDAG/careers or another job portal.

  • Yes, once. This has many advantages: Once your digital profile has been created, you can see your open applications in the overview at any time. If you would like to apply for another position, this can be done with just a few clicks. Are you in a hurry? You can save your profile temporarily and continue at another time. Furthermore, we offer the possibility to import your digital documents easily and conveniently from your Xing or LinkedIn profile.

  • A cover letter? The decision is entirely up to you, with us it is not obligatory. We request a curriculum vitae and your relevant/current references.

  • This should not get in the way of your application. It will be needed by us during the application process, just hand it in as soon as you have it.

  • We have summarised this for you using a checklist:

✓ The cover letter: If you are sending a cover letter, please address it to the respective contact person from the recruiting team. You can find them in the job advertisement. Give a summary of the main points and key messages, including possible starting date and salary requirements.

✓ The resume: It is best to design your resume in tabular form so that it is clear and easy to understand. Try to limit yourself to a maximum of 2 pages and make sure that your stations are complete.

✓ The application photo: It is of course up to you whether you would like to include a photo with your application. If you decide to do so, make sure you have a professional picture.

✓ In general, we recommend that you combine the application documents in as few PDF files as possible. The maximum allowed size is 15 MB. The common file formats (such as MS Office, PDF, ZIP) are supported.

✓ Pay attention to spelling and grammar mistakes.

✓ The overall picture is what counts. You do not have to be colourful, it is important that your application gives us a good first impression of you.

  • Should you receive a rejection, the documents will be deleted after 6 months at the latest. Unless you have agreed to the 24-month storage of your data.

  • You will receive a confirmation of receipt by e-mail. Within the next two to three weeks, both the recruiting team and the department will review your application. If your documents are convincing, you will be invited for an interview. In the interview, which takes place between you, the relevant department, and a colleague from the recruiting team, we and you will find out whether you fit the job and EDAG, and vice versa. If necessary, the interview is followed by another interview. We will then contact you to agree on the next steps.

  • As soon as we have received the application documents, you will immediately receive a confirmation. If this is not the case, please check in the Candidate Centre whether you have really completed your application.

We will contact you within 2-3 weeks after receipt of your application. If you do not hear anything after 3 weeks, this is not a bad intention, please contact us proactively but be sure: we have not forgotten you.

  • The best way to find out who to contact is to look in the respective job advertisement. The colleague responsible for you from the recruiting team is listed there with the contact data.

Please also see our current Corona notes!

  • You have been invited for a video, telephone or personal interview. Please also see our current Corona notes.

In any case you should dress according to the job advertisement. We at EDAG like to do without ties, and like to dress casually, but always appropriately. Beyond that: just stay completely yourself. We want to get to know you personally, and we can do that best if you don't bend yourself for us. Of course we hope that you will tell us a lot about yourself. We will give you insights into the company, the position, the benefits and we will moderate the conversation and ask you some questions.

  • In the invitation you will find all the information you need for the functionality. We will be present in the interviews with camera. It would be nice if we could also get a first impression of you via camera. Please test your camera and sound settings before the interview. And: pay attention to your background ;)

  • You usually make an agreement with the department or your colleague from the recruiting team directly after the interview. In general, we will contact you and let you know what happens next. If this does not happen within 2 weeks, please get in touch with your contact person. This is by no means our bad intention, special circumstances can always occur.

APPLYING IN CORONA-TIMES - YOUR QUESTIONS, OUR ANSWERS

As the recruiting team we very quickly adjusted to Corona's requirements and work more digitally than ever.

True to our motto MAKING IMPOSSIBLE THINGS POSSIBLE. WITH YOU. we welcome new employees even without having seen each other personally before. Because you are what counts.

We will guide you to your workplace digitally.

  • We don't want to endanger you in the current situation, as well as later, as soon as you start working with us.
Therefore, we avoid personal contact in the application process as far as possible and conduct the interviews via video conference.

  • Don't worry, you will get all the information you need when you are invited for a video interview.
In general we prefer MS Teams. The connection is stable and you do not have to register to use it.

  • Talk about it with your contact person from the recruiting team.
We will find a solution. Either by setting up a telephone conference, or the Corona situation will allow for a personal meeting at that time, of course under the protective arrangements.

  • In general, we want to fulfill our duty of care towards our employees and applicants and not put you at risk. If the current nationwide rules allow a meeting under security arrangements and all persons involved agree, we can gladly conduct the interview in person. You will find the necessary information in the following point and in the invitation to the interview which you will receive by e-mail.

  • In all of our EDAG buildings, masks are currently mandatory. Please wear a face mask as soon as you enter the building. We maintain the recommended distance: for example, lifts may only be used by one person and we ensure that meeting rooms are sufficiently large. We don't want to be rude, but we currently refrain from "shaking hands". If you do not feel well on the day of the meeting or feel symptoms of illness, please contact your recruiting team contact immediately so that we can arrange a new appointment.Furthermore, the generally valid hygiene rules apply If there are any other changes or regulations relevant to your interview, we will of course inform you in the invitation to the interview or by telephone.

  • Yes, we will make you a job offer even without a physical meeting, provided that you are suitable and the department gives the go-ahead.

  • Yes. We have created a digital version of our onboarding event. The event takes place via MS-Teams. But we also know that analogue is irreplaceable. Especially when it comes to experiencing our corporate culture. That's why we will be holding our onboarding day again as soon as possible - live and in colour.

  • We are in contact with the respective trade fair organisers. If a trade fair has to be postponed due to the current situation, or if it has to be held virtually, you can find out about it here.

  • Despite social distancing, we want to offer you a comprehensive picture of EDAG as an employer when you are looking for a job. We are currently replacing our on-site job interviews as far as possible with video conferences. If the opportunity arises, or if the conditions allow, we will guide you digitally to your workplace and through the building.
