Hessian Ministry of the Interior orders 100,000 "mask4all" face masks

The Hessian Ministry of the Interior and Sports has placed an order with EDAG Engineering GmbH for the production and supply of 100,000 of the "mask4all" face masks developed by EDAG. This major order is to be produced, packaged and delivered by the EDAG Group in collaboration with project partner Göttlicher GmbH und Co. KG (Schlitz). Delivery will be made in several consignments, and is to be completed by 22nd May.

The "mask4all" face mask is an EDAG in-house development, with which the engineering service provider wants to make a pragmatic contribution to overcoming the Corona crisis. Without any need for sewing, the reusable non-woven inserts included in the set - or even standard household fabrics - and a simple clip connection can be used to assemble face masks that will help to contain COVID-19. The self-assembly masks are intended for commercial customers, municipal facilities and private individuals, to relieve the critical supply situation.

The "mask4all" was developed by EDAG engineers at the end of March 2020, and first of all made available to the globally active engineering company's 8,300-strong workforce. In order to enable not only staff, but also other customers to have access to large quantities of "mask4all", cooperation agreements have been concluded with two companies, Göttlicher GmbH & Co. KG. and Möller Medical GmbH. Since mid-April, the project partners have been producing large quantities of the "mask4all" in an injection moulding process, and are marketing them via their sales channels and partner companies.
