VW GROUP – BODY SHELL DEVELOPMENT FOR EIGHT PLANTS IN SIX COUNTRIES

For the Volkswagen brands VW, Audi, Seat and Škoda, EDAG PS has taken over the complete body shell development of the PQ-35 platform - from product development to plant. The PQ-35 platform is used in ten different vehicle types, which are produced in eight plants in six countries.

The special feature of this complex project was not only to plan the production, but also to develop the product in conjunction with the partner.

The sub-projects were:

•  Product development of the complete sub-structure of the PQ-35 platform

• Production of 2000 prototypes of the sub-structure

• Simultaneous engineering and concept planning for all plants

• Creation of specifications for all PQ-35 body shell systems

• Realisation of parts of the body shell systems
