The Dynamic Simulator DIMFSS / DIM500 for driving dynamics simulations

The Dynamic Simulator DIMFSS / DIM500 is currently the largest and most powerful cabel driven simulator for development, racing and research with a focus on driving dynamics, vehicle movement and driver interaction. The carbon fiber cockpit uses 1:1 motion cueing, which allows the driver to immerse themselves in a virtual environment and experience car rides realistically. This includes even complex driving maneuvers. In the connected data center, all scenarios tested with the virtual prototypes are recorded and documented in real time.

COMPACT FSS motion, vibration and noise simulator
The simulator, designed for high-precision motion, vibration and noise simulations in the smallest of spaces, is particularly aimed at human-centered solutions. So-called “human-in-the-loop simulation” is used to demonstrate the connection between objective simulation data and subjective human perception.  This makes it possible to gain real insights into driving comfort across the entire frequency spectrum up to 20 kHz during the virtual development phase. The characterization of the entire vehicle and the experience of noise and vibrations can thus be anticipated.

CONCURRENT RT Sensor and Actuator Simulator (AUTOHAWK 16)
 

The simulator can be used at every development step, from concept to release, to perform hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) tests. These support the development of vehicles with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) as well as electric vehicles, for example in testing and validating functions of the battery unit and other power electronics components.
