The 5th Wolfsburg United Cup took place on 26 and 27 June 2026 at the Le Power Lingang Football Comprehensive Sports Center in Shanghai. Fourteen corporate teams participated in the tournament, including Volkswagen Group China, SAIC Volkswagen, FAW-Volkswagen, Volkswagen Anhui, Audi FAW NEV, SAIC Audi, DESAY SV, JOYNEXT, SEVB, Zhejiang CNLD, MZ Testing, JFSEAT, FULSCIENCE and EDAG. EDAG participated in the tournament for the third time, with colleagues from the company’s Shanghai, Shenyang, Hefei and Guangzhou locations forming the team.
During the group stage, EDAG competed against Zhejiang CNLD, FULSCIENCE and FAW-Volkswagen. After finishing third in the group, the team advanced to the classification round, where it faced JFSEAT, Zhejiang CNLD and DESAY SV. Despite the high temperatures and challenging conditions on the natural-grass pitch, the players demonstrated commitment, resilience and strong teamwork throughout the tournament. Whether leading or trailing, the team remained united and continued to compete with determination. This same collaborative spirit also characterizes the way EDAG teams work together on demanding customer projects.
Another highlight of the event was the executive match. Former VfL Wolfsburg player Naldo captained the Partner United Team, which included William Wu, CEO of EDAG China, and executives from several partner companies. They competed against the Volkswagen United Team, made up of executives from the Volkswagen Group. Trading business attire for football kits, the participants impressed not only with their skills on the pitch but also with their enthusiasm for the game, creating a memorable and entertaining part of the event.
While the sporting results marked the end of the tournament, the sense of camaraderie and mutual respect remained. EDAG would like to thank VfL Wolfsburg for organizing the event and all participating teams from Volkswagen, its brands and partner companies for the fair and spirited competition. The tournament once again demonstrated that successful collaboration depends on commitment, trust and team spirit—both on the football pitch and in everyday business.
