Fulda, May 13, 2025 - The EDAG Group, one of the world's leading engineering service providers with experts in mobility, industry and public solutions, develops future-oriented solutions for the industrial metaverse.
At the Hannover Messe 2025, EDAG presented a number of showcases demonstrating the capabilities of its collaboration platform. The applications presented included project management in the industrial metaverse using NVIDIA Omniverse – powered by OpenUSD – along with production development and optimization through virtual modeling. The collaboration between the two companies provides an ideal combination of the core competencies of each: EDAG's contribution is its in-depth product and production knowledge. Its integrated approach enables the company to connect digital worlds with real-life manufacturing. NVIDIA's accelerated computing power and AI technologies complement this expertise, making it possible for large-scale Industry 4.0 projects to be implemented.
In recognition of its outstanding efforts and innovative spirit in the use of NVIDIA Omniverse and AI technologies, EDAG was also presented with an Industry Innovation Award by NVIDIA. The company received this award for its innovative platform, which enables customers to create advanced industrial metaverse applications and digital twins. The platform's main features include data-assisted decision-making, virtual training, component-level quality assurance, and AI-supported project management. These lead to improved collaboration, greater efficiency and lower costs for the customer.
Customized solutions for the production of tomorrow.
"Very early on, we realized how important it is for complex manufacturing processes and product development to be intuitively represented. With NVIDIA Omniverse libraries and frameworks, we can take this vision to a new level," explains Dirk Keller, Managing Director of EDAG Production Solutions GmbH & Co KG.
Jan Berner, Head of Technology and Processes at Feynsinn, adds: “Our guiding principle is that we see things through to the end. In other words, not only do we develop concepts, but also ensure that our solutions work in the marketplace and that production facilities really can produce reliably. In the industrial metaverse, we are able to visualize and optimize all processes before they are implemented in reality.”
All-encompassing approach and pilot projects
As a digital integrator, EDAG thinks not so much in terms of silos as in networking processes, data and technologies along the entire value chain. The industrial metaverse acts as a hub which connects smart products, smart factories and smart people. Using NVIDIA technologies helps companies to process even complex data quantities quickly and efficiently, enabling them to make intelligent, data-driven decisions that will optimize their production.
EDAG has already carried out a number of initial pilot projects for customers. The results show that the targeted use of technology helps companies to remain competitive while at the same time compensating for the shortage of skilled labor. Significant increases in productivity and reductions in error rates help customers to cut costs and reduce their time to market.
