EDAG Group strengthens global competitive position: Thomas Klingner takes over management of the Vehicle Engineering segment

Fulda, 08. April 2025 – The EDAG Group appoints Thomas Klingner as Executive Vice President Vehicle Engineering. Klingner has more than three decades' experience in international vehicle development and corporate management. In his new role, he will be focusing on systematically developing the innovative strength and global competitiveness of the leading independent engineering services provider's largest segment.

In the last 23 years, Thomas Klingner held a number of managerial positions at Bertrandt, most recently as a member of the Executive Board with responsibility for prototype construction, workshops and complete vehicle development. One key aspect of his career to date has been the development and management of three facilities in China, where he established sustainable customer relationships and successfully advanced the global sales strategy. In addition to this, he was instrumental in optimizing cost structures and increasing efficiency in complex development projects.

In his new position with the EDAG Group, which he took up in April 2025, Thomas Klingner will be sharpening the global focus of the vehicle engineering segment, building on the company's extensive expertise in complete vehicle development. In collaboration with his team, he plans to systematically expand the company's innovative strength, and in this way further strengthen the EDAG Group's competitive position on the international markets. One of Klingner's particular priorities is to promote cross-site collaboration within the segment, which he sees as the key to long-term success.

Focus on global collaboration and innovative vehicle development

"I am delighted to be joining the EDAG Group," explained Thomas Klingner. “My goal is, together with the entire team, to set new impulses and develop innovative solutions for the mobility of tomorrow. The international orientation and in-depth know-how of the EDAG Group provide an excellent basis from which to further expand our position as a leading engineering partner in the mobility industry. In my eyes, open collaboration and mutual trust are key requirements for successfully mastering this task.”

Harald Keller, CEO of the EDAG Group, is convinced that Thomas Klingner is the right person to head the Vehicle Engineering segment: "In Thomas Klingner, we have gained an acknowledged expert who brings with him technical know-how, years of international experience, and strategic vision. His complete vehicle development skills and the successes he has achieved in global business will strengthen Vehicle Engineering long term. We look forward to taking the next steps with him and to the systematic further development of our innovative strength and competitiveness.
