Bundling engineering expertise for tomorrow's mobility and industry
Böblingen, 10/23/2025 - The EDAG Group, one of the world's leading engineering service providers to the mobility industry and other sectors, has opened its new consolidated facility in Böblingen. By relocating and merging several regional offices, the company is strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration and reinforcing the region's role as a hub for interdisciplinary innovation.
The new site, which covers some 4,700 square meters, combines modern work environments, development areas and testing facilities for complex projects in the fields of complete vehicle development and validation, software and digitalization, electrics/electronics, and production development, including the smart factory. Approx. 400 employees will now be working under one roof on innovative solutions for tomorrow's mobility, and on developments and technologies for other industries, including medical devices and defense.
“Consolidating our existing locations in the region enables us to pool our skills and know-how, and create ideal conditions for interdisciplinary collaboration,” explains Harald Keller, CEO of the EDAG Group. “We use these synergies to offer our customers all-round single-source engineering solutions – from the initial idea to SOP.”
With the comprehensive range of services it offers in vehicle and production plant development and its network within the region, Böblingen is an important location within the corporate group. With the move to the new premises, the company is now merging several of its sites in Böblingen and Sindelfingen.
The company has had premises in the Stuttgart region since 1988, and has continuously expanded its competencies and capacities over the last few decades. This consolidation underlines the further development and our long-term ties with the region and the importance of the location.
Situated at the heart of the innovative Stuttgart region, Böblingen is an ideal location, a place where tradition and technology, engineering excellence and a vision of the future come together. The new facility is in the center of the Stuttgart metropolitan area, has good transport links, and strengthens the EDAG Group's local presence in the strong economic region of south-west Germany. The modern infrastructure was specifically tailored to meet the requirements of agile development processes and interdisciplinary teams.
The EDAG Group welcomed representatives from the worlds of business, politics and science, and also long-standing partners and customers to the opening ceremony. Following the official ceremony, guests attended a themed exhibition providing insights into current projects and future topics from the Group's portfolio. In his speech, Böblingen's Mayor, Dr. Stefan Belz, who opened the event together with EDAG's Executive Management, said: "Future is being made in Böblingen – and today, EDAG impressively demonstrates what that means: high-tech, team spirit, and the courage to take new paths. I am proud that EDAG so clearly commits itself to Böblingen, underscoring our ambition to be a leading center of innovation in the southwest. This investment not only strengthens jobs in our city but also the entire innovation ecosystem of the Stuttgart region – from start-ups to global corporations."
