EDAG Group expert Anselm Lorenzoni appointed to the Federal Ministry's Battery Research Advisory Board

Böblingen, 8/6/2025 – The EDAG Group, a globally leading, independent engineering service provider with experts in mobility, industry and public solutions, reinforces its role as an innovation driver in battery research. Dr. Anselm Lorenzoni, the EDAG Group's battery cell production expert, has been appointed to the German Battery Research Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR).

The Ministry awarded this appointment in recognition of Anselm Lorenzoni's outstanding expertise and the EDAG Group's ongoing research and development work in the field of battery production.

"The battery cell is one of the key technologies in the energy transition – and its importance extends far beyond the automotive sector. A deeply intrinsic motivation drives me to contribute to its continued development: only with high-performance electrochemical storage systems can we exploit the full potential of renewable energies, sustainably reduce their prices, and secure a long-term independent energy supply in Germany. I am very much looking forward to working as a member of the advisory board. Together, we can make a huge difference," says Anselm Lorenzoni.

Leaders in battery production engineering

The EDAG Group is involved in international projects to set up battery production facilities, and has for many years been working with the project management organization Jülich. In its role as an engineering partner, EDAG helps both automotive and non-automotive customers to set up scalable and sustainable battery cell production – a key lever in bringing about the European energy and mobility transition.

About the Battery Research Advisory Board

The German Battery Research Advisory Board was brought into being by the BMFTR to strengthen national and European battery expertise in the long term. It brings together some 50 representatives from the fields of research, industry and politics, and from funding institutions. Lorenzoni's appointment was made following a rigorous assessment and recommendations from project sponsors and technical departments.
