The session focused on how both nations are jointly advancing the transformation of modern manufacturing through digitalization, innovation, and partnership driven collaboration.

The discussion was moderated by Radhieka Mehta, Regional Director, Mumbai - IGCC, and featured key speakers from EDAG. These included Rainer Wittich, CEO, EDAG Production Solutions GmbH & Co. KG; Dirk Keller, Executive Vice President, Industry Solutions & Smart Factories, EDAG Production Solutions GmbH & Co. KG; Bipin Chandra, Director, EDAG Production Solutions India Pvt. The dialogue highlighted the evolution of smart factories, where digital and physical systems are seamlessly connected to enhance efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability. 
Speakers emphasized the importance of digital transformation as the foundation for designing, simulating, and operating future-ready production systems.

A major area of focus was the emerging Industrial Metaverse, a digital environment that integrates real-time simulation, digital twins, and immersive collaboration. These technologies enable manufacturers to validate systems virtually and accelerate decision-making across global teams.

The conversation also stressed the importance of skills development, cross cultural collaboration, and sustainable industrial growth, especially as India strengthens its position in sectors such as green energy, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors.

The session concluded with a shared understanding that the future of smart manufacturing is shaped not only by advanced technologies but also by people, trust, and long term partnerships between Germany and India.
